Security Engineer
Location: New York
Kenmore Design is a global fintech software provider delivering CRM and client portal solutions to Forex brokers and proprietary trading firms worldwide. Security, stability, and resilience are critical to our platform, and we are looking to strengthen our infrastructure and application security capabilities as we continue to scale.
We are seeking a Security Engineer who will play a key role in protecting our systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and ensuring platform reliability across production and internal environments.
Role Overview
As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for proactively identifying risks, hardening infrastructure, and responding to incidents across a distributed, multi-environment fintech platform. This role combines application security, infrastructure security, monitoring, and operational readiness.
You will work closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to ensure that security is embedded into our systems—not added as an afterthought.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and stress testing across applications and infrastructure
- Perform security-focused QA and audit tasks to identify potential weaknesses before they become incidents
- Design, implement, and maintain logging and monitoring systems, including log aggregation and analysis
- Analyze logs and alerts to detect suspicious activity, performance anomalies, or security events
- Respond to incidents and outages, including the ability to quickly restore services or migrate systems to backup infrastructure
- Maintain and test backup and disaster recovery procedures
- Perform regular system updates and patching across environments (Linux and Windows)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to remediate vulnerabilities and improve overall security posture
- Document security procedures, incident responses, and best practices
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or DevSecOps
- Hands-on experience conducting penetration tests and vulnerability assessments
- Strong understanding of logging, monitoring, and incident response workflows
- Experience managing and securing Linux and Windows server environments
- Solid knowledge of backup strategies, system recovery, and high-availability concepts
- Ability to work calmly and effectively during critical incidents or outages
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals, firewalls, and access control concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have (Strong Plus)
- Experience in fintech, trading platforms, or financial services
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and containerized environments
- Knowledge of compliance-driven environments (data protection, access logging, audit trails)
- Experience working with distributed, remote-first engineering teams
